A Conversation with Bharati Reddy and Sunanda

Bharati told me about a lady who had made a garment for Mother. It is on display at Srismriti, the collection of Mother's personal items cared for by Sunanda. Bharati remembered Mother saying to keep this very carefully as the person took Her name with each stitch.

I spoke also with Sunanda who told me that this lady always wanted to give things to Mother and Sri Aurobindo and had sent a fine dhoti to Sri Aurobindo but it was not nicely wrapped so she took two ribbons and wove them with the gold threads from the bottom of one of her saris. Mother gave the dhoti to Sri Aurobindo and said that She would keep the ribbons for She said, "She offered herself with every stitch".
